Typically Walmart is my first choice when I’m shopping for sweatpants and chocolate chip cookies. But this time I wanted to attempt an ENTIRE look from the superstore. My only rule was I couldn’t buy more sweatpants (lol!).
One thing I’ve gotten more comfortable with is wearing sneakers to the party. Being into fashion and dressing up isn’t always about the heels and super dressy outfit. Being the casual one is cool too. So here are three things that you need in order to stay cute and comfy
If you haven’t Wazed your way to your nearest thrift store, then you are already losing in 2019. Thrifting has been my saving grave when it comes to fashion. Especially in college when I was too broke to even think about pulling up to a mall. I would make my dollars Elastigirl stretch so I could buy bags full of stuff for under $50. And you could be doing the same thing!
What we won’t do this season is get caught slipping. All necks will be covered and secured when then wintry breeze hits! #securethenecks But there are more reasons, besides the obvious warm ones, for grabbing as many turtlenecks as possible.
When I was growing up, wide legged jeans was the CRAZE! I remember when my oldest sister got a new pair and was running up and down the hallway showing them off. But soon skinny jeans came and stole all of its thunder! All my flare and boot cut jeans were put to shame by the now trending skinny jeans. And let’s not get into how high-waisted jeans made the skinny jean even more popular. But is there a new contender in the game?
When you want to do a little extra for the party, all you need is a little fur. There’s nothing like a fur coat that will have you asking people if it looks like you were left off bad and bougie. And although a day cold enough for fur is far and few between in the South, it doesn’t mean you shouldn't be ready.
Every outfit deserves one special or quirky thing. Whether it’s a cool purse, bedazzled socks with your Forces, or in this case HUGE SHOULDER PADS! You can find the coolest most interesting items in the thrift store. And usually they are older pieces so they tend to be one of a kind. I found this coat at Goodwill. It initially caught my attention because in a world where nudes and beiges are really popular, I love a deep brown. And to my surprise after trying on, the shoulder pads were on level ten. And here’s why I loved them so much:
Winter in the South is bearable compared to other states, but that does not mean we are not going to come out and SLAY in our favorite coats and jackets. This season I will be sharing my favorite coats and where you can get similar items.
Monochromatic looks are always a fan favorite, especially in this athleisure phase we are all going through. We are all pairing the same color sweats with heels or sneakers. Opposed to going for the usually nude or flesh toned colors, I have really been loving deeper brown shades. I opted to pair this copper skirt with a oversized jackets and it was a match made in heaven. And can you believe it was thrifted! Fall’s hottest trend is animal print! And I am completely here for it. But before you head to the mall, stop by the thrift store. They have tons of animal print blouses that are a fraction of the cost of a mall find. I found an entire outfit from the thrift store that is letting me slay and keep up with this season’s trend. I scored the blouse and jeans from Goodwill, of course. The heels are from Shoeland. The bag was a huge score at Target. Target had really changed the game up this past year. The handbag section are full of gems! Enjoy my look and shop some of my must have animal print pieces!
